Anniversary Dinner at Sea Star in Seattle, July 3, 2011!
So, after many years and using many CRM Systems including: Salesforce.com, Siebel, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, good old ACT and other contact management tools, I recently set-up Green Benefitson BatchBook. It is a cloud based CRM application. After only a few days I can report that BatchBook is a great tool that accomplishes many difficult contact, account and business process tasks quickly, easily and affordably. There is great innovative thinking reflected in the product that actually allows almost any small to medium business to easily configure the application to their own business processes, as opposed to fitting business processes into the application. The key strength is it’s flexibility and simple configuration. The key weakness is of course its flexibility and ease of configuration. There is acceptable work flow processes, excellent and easy web forms for integrating into your web site, and many other parts that provide strong account, contact, and process management.
I will post further updates on the progress but after 3 days of use and adding deals and contacts, I feel like I am moving full speed with more clarity on activities than ever. My first impression of the application is excellent. Finally a right sized application for a small business that is affordable, and quick to set-up. The only major gap I see so far is that it would be great to have a strong Microsoft Outlook client. This of course is where MS CRM shines and has been a GREAT tool over the years. But for the price . . . BatchBook wins.
With any CRM or business process application, the key to success if having a clear picture of how a powerful tool, like BatcBook fits in your work flow and can streamline your operations. It is very easy with any application to want to have it do everything, and become more of a burden than an asset. So, be sure to connect with me for a consultation on business / CRM work flow. This is a great tool, but only as good as your own process, practice for using it and of course making sure it doesn’t slow things down in the long run.
Would love to hear other comments and feedback.
Well this doesn’t happen often enough, but though I would share that Green Benefits was mentioned, all be it a bit short and not completely accurate, in Kiwi Magazine, May 2011. I appreciate the recognition, and any PR / Link Juice helps. We have had a few calls this month just from this small few lines of text.
It goes to show, how important real PR / Press still is in the online business world.
Be sure to check-it out. kiwi is a good environmentally aware publication, that raises awareness of the the simple things people can do to help our world become a more sustainable place.
Well here is a little tip on SEO
After using several SEO Companies over the past 3 years, I can honestly say that SEO is truly a science, and the art is providing real authentic content on a regular basis. I encourage all my customers and do everything they can to practice creating authentic content. For me the best thing any group / company / individual can do to search optimize their site is to ensure that your site clearly captures the essence of your message. This means that you should have, clear, concise content that represents your products, services and message in the clearest simplest format that anyone can understand. Staying true to this will ultimately be rewarded assuming you have followed some basis SEO principles.
So, with regard to following SEO principles, there are no short-cuts, but there are ways to get where you need to go faster, even when true SEO people know that the algorithms used by Google, Bing etc. are all moving targets.
That said, I though I would post my new badge. I have been using SEOMoz Pro for the past couple of months, and find the tools very useful, and assists with guiding your web site developer through some of the core SEO metrics and provides valuable insights into optimizing your site, your pages and your content. There is no perfect tool that covers all aspects, but SEOMoz provides valuable insights that will guide most web masters through the core SEO principles, with-out distracting you from what is most important: authentic content and reflects the message you are trying to portray.
